The Art of Yoga combines the love and passion of two of society’s most beautiful endeavors – the practice of yoga in a space filled with art. Never been to a yoga class before? The Art of Yoga is the perfect studio for you!

At our studio, we take the practice of yoga seriously, but we put our own egos aside. After all, we are a cause driven, community based studio with an amazing mission that puts people before profit. Our class instruction is about your yoga practice; we are here to teach you something about yourself! And to do this the best, we spend much of our time understanding how people learn about their own bodies. Most yoga studios teach from a point of perspective (think: college lecture), but not everyone learns the same way. That’s why, at The Art of Yoga, our instructors teach while floating through the room. We offer an adjustment here and there, but don’t expect to receive more than one adjustment per class, or even one in every class. We adjust you for safety and improvement, not to create a cohesion into a certain pose. We believe our approach works better for a variety of learning styles and is highly endorsed by our current students.

The second component to The Art of Yoga, which makes our studio unique, is that students practice yoga that is immersed with artwork displayed by a different Central Ohio artist each month. And Artists love The Art of Yoga. Are you a Central Ohio artist that is interested in The Art of Yoga? We offer a 2,500 square foot warehouse space for Central Ohio artists to display their artwork. We choose several artists each year.  Our space is also available for art instruction / artists workshops. For more information, contact us.

WHAT IS YOGA?

Yoga is a system of physical and mental practices that originated more than 6,000 years ago. Its purpose is to assist each one of us to achieve our highest potential, improve our health and discover joy through our connection with the mind, body and spirit. With yoga we can improve the quality of our lives by reducing the levels of stress and fatigue we carry in our bodies. We can live longer and better together.

DO I NEED A MAT?

Yes! But if you do not own one, you can rent one from us for $1 or purchase a Art of Yoga mat in our retail section. You may also want to bring a towel for your yoga mat. 🙂

HOW DO I SIGN UP?

You can sign up online for any of our classes or workshops. Click here to view our schedule and to sign up. You can also pay online before your class.

CAN I COME LATE TO CLASS?

Yes, if you have already signed up online and paid, you may enter a class that is already in session. Getting to class 10 minutes early gives you time to sign in, relax and prepare to practice yoga. If you come late, please prepare yourself for class at the door, have your mat ready to unroll quietly as you enter and find a spot towards the back of the class. We’re happy that you made it!

WHERE SHOULD I PARK?

For our evening and weekend classes there is a convenient FREE gravel lot directly across the street from The Franklinton Playhouse which can be used.  If you attend one of our weekday 6:30am or 12pm classes you will need to park on the street.  There is plenty of free street parking on Rich St. or on our side streets of Gift or Skidmore.
